2016 Pacific Masters Long Course Championships

July 22-24, 2016  College of San Mateo

 

A tiny but mighty SRM contingent competed in this year's PMS LC Champs.

The weather was gorgeous and seeing Sheila Nelson compete made everyone smile.

 

Participants were newcomer Marcela Rueda, Sara Jones, Sheila Nelson, Robin Bulman, Merrie Walts, Hugh Wilder, Norm Stupfel and returnee, Susan Nowak.

Santa Rosa did well in the Breastroke, taking first in several categories:

Marcela Rueda won both the 50 and 200 Meter for women 30-34

Robin Bulman won the 50 Meter event for women 50-54

Merrie Walts won the 50 & 100 Meters for women 55-59

Norm Stupfel won the 50 Meter Breastroke men 80-84

Norm also won his 100, 400 & 800 Freestyle Events

Susan Nowack's 100 Meter Butterfly for women 55-59

Hugh Wilder's 50 Meter Backstroke for men 65-69

Sara Jones in the 200 Meter Backstroke, 200 and 400 IM events for women 45-49

Merrie Walts in the 50 Meter Backstroke, 400 & 1500 Freestyle, and 400 IM.

 

With the help of three relays, our team managed to place 4rth among 53 small teams, 11th overall. Find complete results here.
